study about noun clause

Noun Clause

Noun Clause > Anak Kalimat is a clause which has interrogative sub clause like.
Example : I don’t know how old he is now (Sub clause)
Saya tidak tahu berapa umurnya sekarang

To make Noun Clause
A. If there are (tobe I, II, modals, have/has) in the sub clause, they are put after the subject.
1. Please tell me frankly how old your mother is now. (Not how old is your mother now)
2. May I know how long you have studied English here?. (Not how long have you studied English here)

B. If there is ‘do’, it is omitted.
1. I just want to know why you often eat raw fish. (Not why do you often eat raw fish)
2. Can you tell me why you often come late? (Not why do you often come late)

C. If there is ‘does’, it is omitted but ‘the verb’ is added by s/es
1. May I know where Ricky Works now? (Not where does Ricky work now)
2. I know where your mother goes every day. (Not where does your mother go every day)

D. If there is ‘did’, it is omitted but ‘the verb’ is changed to verb II.
1. May I know where Ricky bought it? (Not where did Ricky buy it)
2. Can I know how Rehana came here last night? (Not how did Rehana come here last night)

Note : The pattern from A to D are not for :
a. Negative question
Please tell me why you don’t love me. (Not why don’t you love me)
b. Question with no subject
Please let me know who is a sissy here.
